Fiji

Treasure and I spent a glorious week in Fiji 2 weeks ago.

That's the reason I have been very slack in updating my blog, commenting on others and sending emails.

We had the most wonderful time there. It is a beautiful country and the people are very friendly.

We stayed at the Shereton Fiji Resort on Denarau Island. This is a photo of one of it's pools which was right on the beachfront and surrounded by 2 restaurants.

When we got there we were upgraded from a Garden View room to an Ocean View room with one small catch. There were 2 double beds in the room instead of 1 king bed but with a view like the above 2 photos who cared. It was amazing waking up to that view each morning and seeing the gorgeous sunset each night.

Of course Treasure had to try Kava, their traditional drink. It is made from a root and looks and tastes like dirty water. I didn't want to try it but as it is disrespectful to your host not to drink it when offered it I had to drink it on 2 occasions.

This is the Kava root for sale at the Nadi market.

We also went to the Garden of the Sleeping Giant. It is a large Orchid Garden built bt the American actor, Raymond Burr when he lived in Fiji. It is now one of the main tourist attractions in Fiji. The orchids were simply stunning.

Will let you know some more about Fiji next week, including some very important news!!!
