Easter Swap

I got home from work at 10.30pm on the Thursday night before Easter after an extremely busy shift. Waiting for me was this wonderful pressie from Dale.
It really cheered me up.

The Easter Bunny is gorgeous.

I really love all the pressies that she sent me.

While I was taking the photos Treasure pinched the packet of Easter Eggs.
He is a very naughty boy!!

He finally gave me an egg.

The needle case that Dale gave me is gorgeous.

I love the Stash Management small quilt kit. I can't wait to make it.

Treasure decided that this is me sitting on the floor surrounded by fabric in my untidy sewing room.
Thank you so much Dale for these gorgeous pressies.

I sent my parcel to Shez.

I had fun making these pressies for her.

I made her this bunny tea towel and pot pad.

Also a cupcake with bunny on top tea towel and pot pad.

I bought Shez this cute Stress Chook from Aloomba Lavender Farm. It is filled with lavender and smells gorgeous.

I also made her this chenille face washer and gave her lavender soap with it.

Maree organised this swap through our online stitching group.
It was a great swap.
Thank you Maree for organising this great Easter swap.

Home from Nundle

Last year my car was totally full with things for my niece Bec when we left Nundle. To remind you of all that she had this is the post.

This year I thought I would have lots of room to buy things in Nundle.
How wrong was I.
Bec couldn't make it to Nundle this year but I still had a boot load of things to give to her from myself and a couple of other ladies who were at Nundle. She lives a couple of hours from Nundle as does her Mum (my sister). After leaving Nundle on the Sunday morning Maree and I met my sister at Tamworth and unloaded the boot of all Bec's things.

This is all of Bec's things in front of the boot and I still had mine and Maree's things to put in the car as well. Luckily, we didn't buy too much.

We decided to take 2 days to drive home. It was really nice to do a leisurely trip home and stop off and see some places that I normally just drive past.
We stayed at Tenterfield on the Sunday night.

On the Monday we stopped at Aloomba Lavender Farm.

The farm looked really beautiful but they lost a lot of lavender plants in the floods and storms last year so have only just been able to start replanting.

It was a great trip.

GDITC 2012 part 2

On Saturday we woke up to a really chilly morning at Nundle. I was so glad that I had visited the Nundle Woollen Mill on the Friday and bought the gloves. They soon warmed up my hands.

We headed off to the hall where we were welcomed by this gorgeous sight.

We were shown the 2 projects for the day.

This is the Clamshell Sewing Keep.

I decided to start on the clamshells and really enjoyed making them. I only got 2 rows done but was very happy with that as I've never done any English paper piecing before.

This is the Secret Treasures Sewing Box.
I'm also hoping to make this soon.

We had a swap where we made a pin cushion from one of Sue Daley's patterns. I made a applecore pin cushion but forgot to take a photo before I wrapped it.
I received this applecore pin cushion from Samantha from Walcha. I really love it.

I won 4th prize in the raffle ( a great soft toy book) and got 2 lucky door prizes. I love the pink backing fabric, exactly what I need for a quilt that I am making at the moment.

We had a really great day.

On the Friday night after dinner Sue held a Trunk Show.
She showed us her amazing quilts. Below are a sample of some of them.

I really love this Wedding Ring quilt.

Some of these quilts are so intricite. It's amazing what you can do with English paper piecing.
I don't know if I could make some of the ones above.

I really liked the 3 small quilts below and think that maybe I should start with these and see how I go.

GDITC 2012

Last Friday Maree and I set off for Nundle. Our first stop was at Glenrose Cottage at Warwick. It is a great patchwork shop that also has a B&B where you can go for retreats.

I bought this great fabric there.
We drove on to Armidale and spent Thurs night there.
On Friday morning we headed to Nundle.
First stop was Kerry's shop Cottage on the Hill.

The shop looked great as always with lots of fabrics to choose from.

i bought these fat quarters for some small projects.

I bought this kit to make the quilt below.

The quilt is called Pink and Choclate Fudge.

Next stop was the pub for lunch with all the bloggers.

Aren't we a great looking bunch.
We took over the pub.

This is Kylie, Fiona and myself.

After lunch Maree and I headed to Odgers and McCelland.
It is a great homeware shop with lots of old fashioned utensils.

We then went to The Nundle Woollen Mill.
I always love going there.

i bought these gloves from the Woollen Mill.
This great leather bag I bought from the newest shop in town,Sacs on Jenkins.

It was then back to the Caravan Park for a rest and chatting before dinner at Mt Misery.
