Ireland Part 1

Slievemore Deserted Village on Achill Island. It was an amazing find while driving along the road.

The villagers deserted the village more than 5000 years ago and the reason to this day remains unknown.

Bridge in Westport.

Old Sewing Machine in kylemore Abbey.
A lot of the pubs in Scotland and Ireland have old Singer sewing machine cabinets for tables. I really wanted to bring one home with me.

Thatched cottages in Adare.

Ballycarbeny Castle near Cahersiveen.

The castle is completely in ruins and what is left is supported only by vines which cover it.

We walked all over the castle and I even went right up to the top.

Cahergal Stone Fort near Cahersiveen.

This is one of the best preserved Stone Forts in Ireland and dates back to the 8th or 9th Century.

The remains of the Beehive Hut inside the Fort.

It is used for special Celtic Music Festivals each year.
